“Be yourself.” Michelle Beadle has lived by that motto over the course of her trailblazing career, with highlights that include hosting ESPN’s NBA Countdown, SportsNation, and Get Up!, covering the Golden Globes, NFL Kickoff on NBC, and so much more. Most recently, she serves as a special correspondent for the Spurs and hosts the What Did I Miss podcast on The Athletic.
Michelle got her start in television as a reporter for the San Antonio Spurs and Fox Sports Net (Big Game Hunters) and soon moved on to TNN, where she worked as a sideline reporter on the network’s coverage of Professional Bull Riding (PBR). During her time at TNN, Michelle also worked freelance as a reporter for ESPN’s Titan Games and CBS Sports on its coverage of the PBR. A pre- and postgame reporter for the New Jersey Nets, she also served as a studio anchor, reporter and host for the YES Network on shows such as the Emmy Award-winning Ultimate Road Trip; SportsLife NYC; and Yankees on Deck.
Michelle was hired in 2007 by People Magazine and People.com, for which she hosted the online feature What You Missed over the Weekend. She has been a Red Carpet reporter for the Golden Globes, Grammy Awards, SAG Awards and the Tony Awards, and contributed for People Magazine on television, appearing on The Today Show, The Early Show, Extra, Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight.
Michelle joined ESPN in 2009, and began a longstanding role as a co-host of the studio show SportsNation. She later worked for NBC as both a host at NBC Sports and a correspondent on Access Hollywood. After returning to ESPN in 2014, Michelle served as a host of ESPN’s morning show Get Up! She was also the host of NBA Countdown on ABC and ESPN, leading all of the company’s pre-game and halftime NBA shows for the NBA Finals, the Conference Finals, NBA Playoffs, and NBA regular season.
A devoted animal supporter, Michelle also hosted the Animal Planet series Animal Planet Report; co-hosted the Travel Channel’s Beach Week series; hosted the Discovery Channel reality series Get Packing and the network’s one-hour specials Inside Orlando’s Resorts and Outrageous Room Service; and hosted I Want Your Job, an original series on the Fine Living Network.
A native of Boerne, Texas, Michelle is a graduate of University of Texas-San Antonio.
