Seth Davis is an award-winning sports writer and broadcaster who has been a mainstay of CBS Sports’ studio coverage of college basketball and the NCAA Tournament since 2004. During the 2023-2024 college basketball season, he also served as a college basketball analyst for a weekly live stream on B/R. Previously, he wrote for Sports Illustrated for 22 years and The Athletic for 6 years.

Davis is the author of nine books, including four New York Times bestsellers: Wooden: A Coach’s Life, which chronicles the life of longtime UCLA coach John Wooden; When March Went Mad: The Game That Transformed Basketball, which tells the story of the 1979 NCAA championship game which pitted Magic Johnson against Larry Bird; Wake Up with Purpose!: What I’ve Learned in My First Hundred Years, a narrative of the life of Loyola Chicago matriarch “Sister Jean;” and his most recent book, It’s Hard for Me to Live with Me, which shares former NBA player Rex Chapman’s story of addiction and recovery in unflinching detail.

Davis is also the author of Getting to Us: How Great Coaches Make Great Teams, which profiles elite coaches such as Mike Krzyzewski, Doc Rivers and Dabo Swinney to explain how they use the PEAK (Persistence, Empathy, Authenticity and Knowledge) profile to form winning teams.

In 2023, Davis was inducted into the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Hall of Fame.

A former stand-up comedian who used to perform at comedy clubs throughout New York City, Davis currently resides in Manhattan Beach, California, with his family.
