ESPN SportsCenter Anchor

Stan Verrett is one of the longest tenured ESPN SportsCenter anchors at the company today. He first joined ESPN as an anchor for ESPNEWS in September 2000, and later moved to the Los Angeles Production Facility in 2009 to co-host the 1 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter. He remains in that role today.

Throughout his career, Stan has become a familiar face in ads, including the popular “This Is SportsCenter” commercials. He’s appeared in commercials for brands like Dairy Queen, Jaguar, and Scion, and has shared the screen with stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Connor McGregor, Drew Brees, David Ortiz, Jorge Posada, Damian Lillard, and more.

Prior to ESPN, Verrett worked as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at WDSU-TV, an NBC affiliate, in his hometown of New Orleans, LA.

Verrett’s career includes serving as sports anchor and reporter in Norfolk, VA, at ABC affiliate WVEC-TV and NBC affiliate WAVY-TV. He was also a top-rated morning show personality at several radio stations in Washington, DC, Charleston, SC, and Norfolk.

Verrett is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, DC, where he was selected as one of the two outstanding graduates in journalism for 1989. He was recognized by Howard in 2020 with the Alumni Award for Distinguished Postgraduate Achievement.

An avid golfer, he lives in the Los Angeles area. Verrett remains a loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints, frequently returning to New Orleans to attend games.
